Project: Painting of a handsome lion using layers and glazes of acrylics.
Materials
For the Study:
Jackson's Art Daler Rowney : Willow Charcoal -
Charcoal
Cartridge Paper (I stock up with 200 sheets of 50% recycled 170gsm A3) or a Daler Rowney Sketchbook
The Painting:
Ground 2x Layers of Burnt Sienna/Umber watered down and brushed on surface, roughly all over twice.
For sketching out the face before the under painting, I used a White 'Blanc' Conté de Paris 630
For the underpainting / I use thinned Reeves White Acrylic Paint.
You will need a selection Acrylic Paints mainly - Blue, Burnt Sienna/Umber, Cadmium Orange, White and Black & Reeves Gold Acrylic Paint
I look for good value quality acylics such as 'Royal & Langnickel Essentials'.
Acrylic Paper, I generally stock on Jackson' Art- Daler Rowney : System 3 : Acrylic Pad : 230gsm : 20 Sheets : A3
Or Canvas Panel Boards on compressed which are idea for both acrylic and oil paintings. I then have the artworks placed in float frame by my local framers 'Artisan Picture Framers' who I highly reccomend .
A Selection of flat and round brushes of different sizes. I use synthetic brushes made by Royal & Langnickel
